Later, he returned to DRDO, where he led projects that gave India its powerful missile systems like Agni and Prithvi. His pioneering work in missile and nuclear technology earned him the title of the “Missile Man of India.”

In 1998, Dr. Kalam was also a key figure in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests, which established India as a significant nuclear power. These achievements weren’t just scientific milestones; they became moments of national pride that united the country.
